What are some good songs for an audition for a 15 year old girl that's voice cant go very high?

I sang Avril Lavigne last year and her pitch level in Complicated and Sk8er Boi are good.

This is for a school play so no swears in the songs please.

You could try some Wicked songs, or for something more challenging, Anything Goes. Wicked has For Good, which can be a solo although it was originally a duet. Anything Goes has, of course, Anything Goes, as well as Blow, Gabriel, Blow.

Good luck!!

HALLELUJIA!

girl at our school sang it at the talent show, and everyone was amazed i think some people even cried
Reply:Try something by Ingrid Michaelson, or Chantal Kreviazuk.

Both have fairly even voices...might even try Imogen Heap? All of their music is light-hearted, not explicit.

These are some you might like:

%26quot;These Days%26quot; - Chantal Kreviazuk

%26quot;Before You%26quot; - Chantal Kreviazuk

%26quot;Overboard%26quot; - Ingrid Michaelson

%26quot;Boys and Girls%26quot; - Ingrid Michaelson

%26quot;The Way I Am%26quot; - Ingrid Michaelson

Or if you%26#039;re feeling particularly daring, do something classic: Carly Simon, The Zombies, Doris Day...you could even do a Beatles song. (T.V. Carpio%26#039;s version of %26quot;I Want to Hold Your Hand%26quot; from Across the Universe is divine.)

A great choice would be %26quot;New Soul%26quot; by Yael Na茂m.

Good Luck!
Reply:Well it depends on the role you are auditioning for.

some songs avalible:

1. Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast

2. I Got the Sun in the Morning - Annie Get Your Gun

3. There are Worst Things I Could Do - Grease

4. On My Own - Les Miserables

5. My Favorite Things - The Sound of Music

6. Missing You (My Bill) - The Civil War: The American Musical

7. Home - Beauty and the Beast

8. Once Upon a Time - Jekyll and Hyde the Musical

9. etc because there are WAY more then what i mentioned

that%26#039;s just a variety of songs. a few things to keep in mind while picking out a song:

1. BE COMFORTABLE.

2. never choose a song from the musical ur auditiong for (u want to show the director that u know more music then that one show)

3. if its a play/ musical, choose songs from a play/ musical. pop songs r great but not what is typicaly found on Traditonal broadway......just modern broadway.

4. if the option of choosing a 16-32 bar measure, sing the bars that u can do the best. don%26#039;t pick the higher end of the song if u can%26#039;t sing it.

hope that helped. this is advice given to me by fellow altos/mezzo sopranos who have auditioned with those songs and from years of musical training.

GOOD LUCK! =]

Reply:Find music from Les Miserables and sing Eponine%26#039;s songs like %26quot;A Little Fall of Rain%26quot; or %26quot;On my Own.%26quot; That%26#039;s if you are auditioning for a musical or something.
Reply:If it%26#039;s for a musical, don%26#039;t sing a pop song - ie NO MILEY CYRUS. Or Kelly Clarkson. Or any other pop singer. It doesn%26#039;t show off anything except that you haven%26#039;t done your homework on what is required - sing something from a musical. Also, avoid songs from anything which is currently popular or big on Broadway - which means Wicked, Hairspray, RENT, Les Mis, Spring Awakening, Phantom of the Opera or Avenue Q, purely because everyone else will sing songs from those shows and you won%26#039;t stand out from the crowd. Stay a long way away from High School Musical also. The suggestion of Anything Goes is a good one - there are some fantastic songs in that show; you could look at %26quot;Roxie%26quot; from Chicago (the first verse will be all you need), %26quot;Don%26#039;t Tell Mama%26quot; from Cabaret, %26quot;Heaven Help My Heart%26quot; from Chess, %26quot;Adelaide%26#039;s Lament%26quot; from Guys and Dolls, or %26quot;As Long As He Needs Me%26quot; from Oliver. You need to try and pick a song that suits the show you%26#039;re auditioning for (similar style - same composer if you can manage it), shows your voice off and also is a song which you can show character through.
